Miner Statue
Carol Schreter Park, str. December 1, 1918
August 6th is one of the most important holidays in Jiu Valley. Miner’s Day has a very specific meaning here, because Jiu Valley and its existence are closely linked to the mining industry. Starting with 1840 until now, the miner statue is a symbol for the power resulting from the sacrifice of those working underground, who in the last 150 years lost their lives for a noble purpose, to remove coal from underground mines and putting bread on the table for their families, in extremely difficult working conditions.
